Bachelor of Engineering Technology – Civil (Ara)
Bachelor of Engineering Technology – Civil: Prepare yourself for an exciting career in civil infrastructure design and development.
The Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) is a three year degree with a focus on design and implementation of engineering technology. Students can choose to specialise through electives in structural, water and water waste or roading and transportation engineering strands. The BEngTech (Civil) is fully accredited by Engineering New Zealand (EngNZ) and is recognised internationally under the Sydney Accord.
In the first year students will develop core engineering skills in computing, mathematics, management and engineering sciences, plus some discipline specific topics. Critical thinking, problem solving and innovation will be a key part of the student’s success.
In the second and third year, students will continue to deepen their understanding in civil engineering and engage in projects to apply their knowledge. A capstone project is run with close ties to industry, with many projects being sponsored by key industry parties. This offers students the chance to test their skills against industry standards in a real-world scenario.
This course is offered to you at the Christchurch-Madras Street campus of the Ara Institute of Canterbury in New Zealand.
Entry Requirements: IELTS 6.0 (academic) with no less than 5.5 in reading and listening.
