Gain communication skills that are in demand across a wide range of sectors.

As information and content becomes increasingly important in business, there’s an acute need for professionals with an understanding of information management and design. As a graduate of this programme, you’ll be in a position to meet this need by being able to create and manage effective user-centred content. You’ll possess new skills to enhance your present career or to change careers in this developing professional field.

The foundational courses that comprise the Graduate Certificate in Information Design cover professional writing and editing, an introduction to user experience, professional issues in information design and an introduction to visual design. Specific skills covered in these programmes include: research and analysis, solving communication problems, collaboration and team work, and identifying appropriate tools and technologies. These are ‘meta-skills’ that will enable you to be adaptable and to carry out a wide range of tasks in diverse roles.

Our graduate certificate and graduate diploma in information design are the only graduate-level programmes offered online in this field in Australasia. They are aimed at individuals who are working in the industry and want to upskill, or those making a career change. You can study part or full time according to your needs. Historically most students choose part time due to the predominance of mid-career students.

While there is no work placement in the graduate certificate, if you progress to the Graduate Diploma in Information Design and Management, that qualification includes a workplace internship.

To complete this Graduate Certificate you are required to complete a minimum total of 60 credits.
