Graduate Diploma in Laboratory Technology: Expand on your science knowledge and skills for a career as a laboratory technician

The Graduate Diploma in Laboratory Technology is a one year programme which has been designed in collaboration with New Zealand employers, providing students with the specific knowledge, practical skills and relevant analytical techniques for work as a laboratory technician. These skills include critical thinking, problem solving and result interpretation.

Students will have the opportunity to enrich and broaden their knowledge with electives in areas such as microbiology, analytical and environmental chemistry, food microbiology and molecular biology. The programme also includes a research project and work placement element to ensure students are work ready when they graduate.

This course is offered to students at the Christchurch-Madras Street campus of the Ara Institute of Technology in New Zealand.

Entry Requirements: IELTS 6.5 (academic) with no less than 7.0 in speaking, listening and 6.0 is reading, writing along with a recognised bachelor’s degree.
