Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science: Professionalise in the fields of sport and exercise science
The Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science programme enables graduates to work with individuals and organisations to achieve identified outcomes in sports psychology, biomechanics and exercise physiology, and sporting excellence at all levels.
Students pursuing this course will gain a greater understanding of performance in athletic events through modelling, simulation and measurement. Strong emphasis is placed on sports psychology, investigating psychological factors which effect performance. Students will also learn about exercise physiology, responses and adaptations of the human body to a wide range of physical exercise conditions, and the mechanisms by which exercise can reduce or reverse disease progression.
Experienced tutors at the Ara Institute of Canterbury will increase your understanding of the internal and external forces acting on the human body and the effects produced by these forces.
This course is offered to students at the Christchurch-Madras Street campus of Ara Institute of Canterbury in New Zealand.
Entry Requirements: IELTS 6.5 (academic) with no less than 7.0 in speaking, listening and 6.0 in reading, writing along with a bachelor’s degree preferably in health science.
