Bachelor of Teaching – Early Childhood education: Help young children take their first important steps in life

The early years of a child’s life lay the foundations for their future. Learn how to care for and teach infants, toddlers and young children. This degree gives you the balance of two days per week academic learning on campus, one day for individual study, and two days for teaching experience in a licensed early childhood setting. As a graduate you can apply for registration with the Education Council of Aotearoa New Zealand (EDUCANZ) and become a provisionally certified teacher.

This course is available at the Napier campus of the Eastern Institute of Technology in New Zealand.

Entry requirements: IELTS 7.0 (academic) in all bands. The selection process for this programme includes a Skype interview, literacy and numeracy assessments, and references checks. You must have no criminal convictions which would preclude you from working with children.
