The Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Aquaculture is a level 8 programme. It can be completed full-time over 1 year or part-time is also available. If you have a science degree and want to work in the field of marine biology. This qualification is for you.

This one year programme will provide you with integrated study and research opportunities in the areas of sustainable aquaculture practice and management.

These core studies are supported by a course in research methodology leading to a six month research dissertation. The aim of the research project is for you to initiate original research while working alongside existing aquaculture businesses and/or research organisations.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Aquaculture will give you an advanced theoretical understanding and the technical and practical skills related to sustainable aquaculture practices. It will provide you with the skills to critically assess aquaculture systems.

As part of an internship or in your existing employment, you will also complete an industry research project. This will encourage you to support the development of sustainable growth in the aquaculture sector through innovation. The programme has been developed in consultation with the aquaculture and scientific community as well as industry representatives. It is designed to be flexible enough to meet today’s needs and those of the future, locally, nationally and internationally.

Entry requirement: A Bachelor’s degree from any field or relevant skills and knowledge acquired through appropriate work or professional experience.

English language required with IELTS score 6.5 Academic (no lower than 6.0 in each band)
