Bachelor of Technology: Learn about upcoming technologies
The Bachelor of Technology programme is designed to make students highly skilled industry ready technologists who are prepared in one of the following strands:
- Biotechnology: includes quality assurance of laboratory practices, analysis of samples and reporting on sample results. Graduates who have picked this strand work as researchers or laboratory technicians.
- Environment technology: deals with the science of conservation, biosecurity and environmental management. Students who pick this strand and graduate can work as biosecurity officers who help with animal/plant pest control and conservation of local biospheres.
- Food technology: is about the science of food. Candidates who choose this strand and graduate can find jobs as food technologists who are involved with developing new food products and analyzing the components of food or food safety officers who audit the food manufacturing and service industries.
- Agritechnology: is the science of agriculture, this includes soil and plant analysis and plant and animal production. Graduates from this strand work as researchers or laboratory technicians with a focus on agriculture.
This course is offered at the Hamilton City campus of the Waikato Institute of Technology in New Zealand.
Entry requirements: IELTS 6.0 (academic) with no individual band score lower than 5.5 or equivalent.
