The Wellington Institute of Technology offers a range of industry-led qualifications from trades through to degrees and postgraduate programmes. WelTec qualifications are future focused, developed alongside industry and provide students with practical skills so they can pursue their career goals.
Their business, industry and professional partnerships are of enormous benefit to students. WelTec is one of New Zealand’s oldest tertiary education institutions and the second-oldest in the capital city. They have been training students since 1904.
Established in 1986, on the shores of the Porirua harbour, Whitireia has grown to become the tertiary institution of choice for over 7,500 students. All programmes have been developed in conjunction with industry to offer excellent applied qualifications; all approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
Since 2012, WelTec and Whitireia have been working together to provide the best possible choices for students in the Wellington region and beyond. This partnership is driven by a commitment to put students first, by providing more choice, more opportunities and improved experiences.
